McLeskey Family Reunion 2006

Here are a few pic's from the McLeskey Reunion that was held on July 30, 2006. We all had a good time visiting and of course the dinner was very good too, lots of good stuff. I think my favorite was the dressing. Lots of good sweets too. WE MISSED ALL OF YOU WHO COULDNT BE WITH US.

Trip to Hardy with friends!

Friends of our Jesse and Judy Jackson, and Judy's son Derrick, went with us to Hardy this past weekend. We went through all the stores, and then we went out to eat, we had barbeque plates, and Jumbo Cheeseburgers. Then it was off to Ash Flat, where we had planned to go to the county fair. BUT there was not to much going there so we just stoppped at some flea markets and stuff, and made tours of the campgrounds around. On the way home, we went to Paragould and had supper at Grecian Steak House. When we arrived at home we watched the movie National Treasure. We had a good day, had lots of fun and laughs. The pic of me in the pink camo was taken at an army surplus store, we were acting silly.

MY SISTER DANA

Dana was headed to do music for a wedding on Saturday evening, so I took a few snap shots of her. She asked me to delete them, but I never listen to her . HA!

Pictures taken at the farm

I have been up at the barn alot lately, since we got the cows. Took a few pic's , thought I would share them. Dottie is my dog, she always waits outside the gate, she is kinda shy. The goat you see is our herd sire, he is running loose with the GIRLS right now. The other picture is of the hay feeder that Steve made for the cows.

MOMS BIRTHDAY PIC's

Our family got mom a 30 gal fish tank for her birthday, and we had all the gravel and plants alrady set up in it. She is going to get her fish tomorrow. We got her 5 fish to start, 3 tiger stripes and 2 black molly's. She loved the tank, and we had a carrot cake with cream-cheese icing for her birthday cake.

WE NOW HAVE COWS!!!!!

The McLeskey family goat farm now has an addition of 4 cows, and a few more are to be a part of the ther herd soon. Steve has been wanting a few cows ever since we bought the 45 acres, but we have been so busy getting our goat herd built up, that it got put on the back burner. This past weekend we bought our first 4, 2 grown cows, one young Heffer, and a young bull. HAVE WE NAMED THEM? YES! Oldest cow is Annabelle, then there is Sadie, the young heffer is Strawberry (Ashley named her) and then the little bull is Bullwinkle. I have added a few first photos of the group, but I do not have a pic of Annabell or Bullwinkle yet. The grown cow that is what with red, belongs to Steve's mom, it is staying on our place but belongs to her. I will have more pictures of the others tomorrow to add. It reminds me of when I lived on the farm as a kid, I kinda enjoy hearing the bellering of the cows.

House Scott McLeskey liked on his visit to AR

Hey Scott , Do you remember looking at this house on your second visit to Arkansas. I remember when we were driving down Court street in Paragould, you said "hey Kim look at that house, I love that house." I took a pic of it today when I drove by. It was for sale not to long ago, but it now has new owners.
Just curious if you remember it.
YOU CAN DOUBLE CLICK ON THE PICTURE AND SEE A LARGER VIEW OF IT.

Our New Office Building

For those of you who follow my blog, you know that about 2 months ago the Company that I work for moved into a new office building. I drove by the old building this morning on my way to pick up the company mail and took a pic of it through my car window. The other pic is of our new office building. It is a real nice building and we are all enjoying our new place .

the canning of tomatoes continues

Last night the guys decided to put some tomatoes up in freezer bags, so that we can use them in chili , macroni and tomatoes etc. I think they ended up with about 14 bags each. Jesse's wife helps out a little, ,making sure they are all sealed good.

Kirtis's 280 gal salt water tank

Took a few shots last night of Kirtis large tank. He has been working hard to get the phosphates right, so that a certain coral can live, so it was pretty clear last night, and you can get a look at some of the fish in the tank. In the last pic Kirtis has his feeding stick, and is feeding the eel a piece of shrimp.

DANA AND MIKE

I may have posted this before , I cant remember. This is Dana (my sister ) and her boyfriend Mike.
It was taken at the Opry House in Nashville, TN.

Kirtis and Ashley's fish tanks

Took a couple of pic's of the small fish tanks that we have in the house, FUNNY how there are 8 to 10 fish in each tank, and the pictures didnt catch any of them swimming by. The second tank is Ashley's, it is just a 10 gallon, she won some gold fish at a Dana's school Holloween game night, and I am so suprised at how clean our tank stays, they are such big fish. We have a large filter on it, so I guess that is why. The other tank is Kirtis's fresh water tank in his bedroom, it is 55 gal. He has a 280 gal in our kitchen-breakfast area, I will have to get a pic of it soon, and post it too., but it is a salt water tank.

YUM! YUM!

Well ! we now have about 100 quarts of tomato juice, and 30 quarts of homemade SALSA. They canned the tomato juice out in the shop, so they placed them in the fishing boat, for them to finish sealing. I took a pictrure while they were still in the boat. The Salsa was canned in the house, it is in the other picure.

Steve and Jesse canning tomato juice.

Here are a couple of pic's of Steve and his friend Jesse canning their tomato juice, they put up 40 quarts on Monday evening, and they did 28 last night.
They planted 70 tomato plants this year. Last year Jesse had 30 plants and got right at 100 quarts, so they are wanting to get 100 quarts each this year.

It was kinda dark in the shop so the pic's arent real clear, but it is the best place for them to do their canning , since it keeps my house from getting so messy.

Kirtis and Friends

Kirtis too a few pic's with my digital camera , while he was out with friends. He usually gets pictures of everyone else but him, but he managed to get himself in a few of these so I thought I would post them.

Our House

I took a few snap shots of our place a few days ago. I thought I would share them with you. There is one of our house, and a couple of the land that we bought across the road from us, which is where we are going to build our next house, if we ever sell this one. I also took a picture of the Hay that we had bailed of our place. I love how the round bales of hay look out in the green pasture after they are bailed, but I didnt get a pic of it in time, so the pic is of them after we lined them up next to the fence. We will keep some for the goats, but we will sell most of it. We will have more a little later on to do again.

CAMPING TRIP WAS FUN!

Well we have been back from out camping trip for a week now, and I am ready to go again, which we will come August 11. We will be going back to Sam A Baker State Park. Steve and his friend Jesse have been busy canning tomato juice and working in the garden every afternoon since we got back, I think they said they were going to be putting up about 25 quarts of juice tonight.

I bought a large box of Peaches over the weekend, and boy where they good. I need to put some in the freezer tonight. One of my favorite things to get out of my grandmothers freeszer when I was a little girl, was frozen peaches, because all of the sugar would be settled toward the end of the freezer bag, and I loved that part. SURE MISS MY GRANDMA A LOT. GRANDPA TOO.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
